Tibet Ranked Second Least Free Country by Freedom House Report

A recent report released by the US based NGO Freedom House has ranked Tibet* the least free country in the world after Syria.

The annual report, Freedom in the World 2019, from the independent watchdog organization has scored Tibet only one point for aggregate freedom score out of hundred for the second year in a row with hundred indicating the most free and zero the least.

For the 13th consecutive year from 2005-2018, Freedom in the world 2019 recorded a weakening of democratic trends around the world and Tibet remains the second least free area in the world with indicators for freedom Rating, Political Rights and Civil Liberties all scored Tibet as the least free.

Freedom House is an independent watchdog organization dedicated to the expansion of freedom and democracy around the world. Founded in 1941, Freedom House was the first American organization to champion the advancement of freedom globally. It analyzes the challenges to freedom, advocate for greater political rights and civil liberties, and support frontline activists to defend human rights and promote democratic change.
