Tsering Released after Five Years in Chinese Prison

Tsering, a monk who took part in the nation-wide 2008 uprising was released from prison after the end of his five year sentence on July 24th, 2016.
Tsering, who is identified only by his initial name, was dropped off at Ngaba by the police after completing a five year prison term on July 24th without any prior notice sent to his family and friends, according to media outlets. Following his return home, he was greeted by his family and friends followed by many more well-wishers.

Tsering took part in a protest in front of the district administrative block in Ngaba (Ch : Aba) when all of Tibet was protesting against the misrule of the Communist Party of China for decades. He managed to escape arrest for a long time until June 20th, 2011 when he was finally arrested by Chinese authorities.
